Sarita and Puskar at Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre

Sarita & Puskar — Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre

"They were always the family that never asked for help. Today, we ask on their behalf."

In 2017, Sarita and Puskar came to Melbourne with their two-year-old son, full of hope. They built a quiet, humble life here the kind of family that gives more than they take.

In 2021, Sarita was diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer. She fought hard, and she won.

But in January 2025, the cancer returned more aggressive this time. For the past year, Sarita has been through chemotherapy, radiation, and clinical trials at Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre. Puskar - Sarita's beloved husband, left his job to be by her side every single day. Their now 11-year-old son has watched his mother fight with a courage most of us will never have to find.

Recently, Sarita's illness has progressed to leptomeningeal disease. She is now in the terminal stage of her journey.

The family has exhausted their savings and superannuation. With no insurance and no Centrelink support, there is simply nothing left.

We are not asking for much only that Puskar and their son do not have to worry about the basics during the most painful chapter of their lives.
